We recommend using Himalayan Salt as a dry body polish. Let’s talk you through the way to use it to get the very best results:

  1. Stand in the bath or shower
  2. Be sure your skin is dry
  3. Massage your entire body, starting at your feet, and working up towards your heart
  4. Use a gentle, circular, massaging motion
  5. If you have sensitive skin, it’s not recommended using it on your face
  6. Shower or bathe as normal, but there’s no need to use soap or shower gel
  7. Step out and pat dry gently

    Hey there Kadifa, thank you for this very interesting article. Being a ‘dude’ (as in, not a dude-ess), I have never really looked at using products like yours. But since getting some of your products for my wife, I have been sneaking into her creams and oils draw and trying them out! (Don’t tell her!)

    … and I must admit, doing an oil bath here and treating a sunburn there has actually been very pleasant. Now I know why ladies keep doing this!

    But on a more serious note: I do a lot of cycling and it never occurred to me to use salt to help with cramps. Does it make a difference if I massage the salt in before I go on a long cycle? because it is the cramps during cycling that are an issue.

    Thank you for your passion and care in creating these products. I am having a lot of fun with them.

    Thank you for your kind words William – glad to have a ‘dude’ on board who loves our range of products…even if they are ‘borrowed’ from your wife!

    Please do not massage the salt into your skin before you cycle! It will be very uncomfortable for you. Only do this is only if you are planning to rinse off straight away 😃

    As a regular gym goer, I find that cramps can caused by dehydration, poor circulation, mineral deficiency in calcium, magnesium, or potassium.

    For your muscle cramp the best thing to do is put some in the bath & relax. Himalayan salt contains 84 minerals including calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium. The minerals help to promote circulation, reduce the inflammatory response, and act as a detoxifying agent and general muscle relaxant.

    You also can’t go wrong with some lavender essential oil which you can use neat and massage into the affected areas. Peppermint is also another great choice as it has anti-inflammatory properties, however make sure you dilute it in a carrier oil such as almond, sunflower, olive, avocado or coconut oil.

    Don’t forget to warm up & warm down before you cycle!
